Standard Bearers German 38T Tank Project

The German T38 project base vehicle started out as a FV434 with REME
Powered by a Rolls Royce 2 stroke, 6 cylinder, twin crankshaft, diesel, 240 bhp motor.

Two of these vehicles were imported into Australia
and altered dramaticaly to represent
Japanese Type 97 CHI-HA medium WW2 tanks
for the production "The Great Raid"
filmed in Queensland.

The Major alterations that were carried out
on the vehicles for the film made an
ideal base for the German T38 project.

The second repo Chi-Ha used in the film is
still on display
at the Gold Coast War Museum
